On August 3rd a new church will be launched, a worshiping community daring to believe that the gospel is powerful enough to breakdown all barriers (ethnic, cultural, class), disciples who see unity-in-diversity as not the "next big thing" but a Kingdom thing, an answer to the prayer of Christ that the world will know that Christ is God's Son by the unity of the people of God.
Come and celebrate this work of the Spirit. Your blessings and prayers will be the affirmation of the Spirit.
This church is launching because of...
The Holy Spirit
We were an English Ministry for Korean Americans, when non-Koreans came and stayed and made our community stronger. So we said yes to the movement. This is a Spirit-thing!
The Crazy Core Team
The transition was long and full of difficulties. But these people heard the call and they put the call before their comfort. Now they are joining the dance. Without them, New Life would simply be "what might have been."
Duraleigh Presbyterian Church
This Korean church supported this English Ministry, and when the Ministry matured into a worshiping community with its own calling, they said yes, providing a space for worship. The Korean spirituality --that God answers prayers-- will always be part of our DNA.
New Hope Presbytery of PCUSA and 1,001
New Hope Presbytery already has that spirit of unity-in-diversity, living out its reformation spirit, to be reformed and always reforming. The best way to keep a tradition is to give it fresh expressions.
And 1001, whose outsized vision of new worshiping communities has galvanized many leaders to innovate to accomplish our unchanging mission, to baptize and disciple.
