Global mission helps us remember that the embrace of God is world-wide. Focusing on local without our horizon being global we can easily become parochial. Our global perspective reminds us that the needs of the world goes beyond the needs that pertain directly to us. In this way, we are stretched to love and care for others. For we know that in this modern globalization, everything is interconnected, that indeed everything global is local. The lack of compassion and action for global needs is simply an unhealthy denial of this reality. Apathy of others eventually becomes apathy to myself while compassion for others always redounds to become the compassion for oneself. These are the global mission works we are supporting in prayer and finance: PCUSA - World MissionWEC Internatonal We are currently supporting a missionary family in Yemen by sending them $300 eachmonth. Pray for safety, opportunities for witnessingGlobal Partner USAWe are currently supporting a missionary family in Philippines by sending $100/month. Pray for opportunities for witnessing
Local mission means that we remain focused on the real needs of the community we live in. Where we are is where we are sent. This is not true just for the individual but for the community. That our church was formed in the Triangle area means we are to serve the Triangle area. The first churches were known by their mission field. The Corinth church was not just the church located in Corinth but the church called to love and redeem Corinth. New Life Triangle is called to love and redeem the Triangle area. This also means that we are not doing our mission work alone for we know that we are not the only church. So collaboration with all form of organizations and ministries for justice, righteousness, and truth in the Triangle is itself also the witness to God.About RTPWhat we are doing: Myanmar Children VBS and summer programs Children"s Sunday School Wednesday night BAG Club Food Bank A Saturday a month for volunteer work First Sunday of every month collection of non-perishable foods for donation Soup kitchen Once a month volunteer work Habitat for Humanity Once a month volunteer work Raleigh Rescue Mission Once a month volunteer workTeam Captain: Esther Chang
"Through him and for his name's sake, we received grace and apostleship to call people from among all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith." Romans 1:5The call to be a missionary is not a call to the few and the elite. It is actually a call for everyone who has received the grace of God. The word "apostleship" literally means "sending." God calls us to God's self so God can send us. To receiving Grace is to be sent out with that power and message of Grace. So if we are missionaries then where are we to go? Actually, you are already in the mission field! Where you are is where you have been sent! God uses our life experiences and decisions to always place us where God can use us. God has orchestrated our life's shifts and changes so we can be at the place of our mission field! This is what is mean by Market-Place Missionaries. We are all missionaries and our mission field is the market place where we are currently working and living. The world would like us to focus most of our energy into simply being a productive member of society. So the world does everything in its power to make us forget our mission. We are like ambassadors who have forgotten their main purpose of being in that foreign land and setting shop. To lose our identity is to lose our purpose and to lose our purpose is to lose ourselves in the maddening production-cycle which will leave us empty. We are Market Missionaries and New Life wants to rekindle this identity of all disciples of Christ, all those who have received "grace and apostleship!"Market-Place Missionaries-remember that witnessing is their primary task and career their secondary task.-do excellent work in their career for the sake of work itself and for the sake of witnessing to integrity.-live their core Christian values and not afraid to communicate the reasons and the resources of those core values.-pray for their marketplace, their commute and their walk simply being prayer walks.-will love them like Christ and when opportunity arises will not be afraid to witness to that love.
This year New Life joins Duraleigh Presbyterian Church as we commemorate our 36th anniversary. Our church had a humble beginning in 1974, when several Korean-Americans from the triangle area, gathered in homes to share bible study together. On June 16th, 1974, official worship services began at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, NC. After 8 years of worship in this church, by the grace of our Father, we acquired and moved into our current church building. PCUSA officially named our church Duraleigh Presbyterian Church in 1982. Our congregation has overcome several challenges through the constant guidance and protection provided by our Father. During construction of our main sanctuary, St. Giles Presbyterian Church welcomed us with open arms, offering us a temporary place of worship. Up until 1987, we received the blessing of financial support from The Presbytery of New Hope. As our church began to grow, a new generation of English speaking members began to mature into adulthood and needed a definition of their own vision and role in our church. In 1997, DPC invited Pastor Peter Kim as the first full-time pastor for our growing youth group. Under his leadership, not only did youth ministry strengthen, but also a group of English-speaking adults begun to take root as our English Ministry. In 2001, Pastor Peter Park joined our English ministry as the new leader of our church. In 2001, We held our first praise team retreat, which gave birth to the our praise team name, Radiance of Christ, also known as ROC. This name was inspired by the radiance Moses revealed when he came down after his encounter with God for 40 days.In 2004, Pastor Peter Park ended his service with our English Ministry and we welcomed Sung Kim, who was actively serving as the part-time youth pastor, to take responsibility of our English Ministry. In 2007, Pastor Sung Kim ended his service with our English Ministry. After his departure, the PNC (Pastor Nominating Committee) was formed; however we faced difficulty in finding a full-time candidate. In late 2007, the young adults of our church, began to see a growing need for a life group that included singles, young proffessionals, and newlywed couples. At the time, we only had Women's group, Men's Group, and College group. These members gathered and began holding weekly life group meetings and eventually named themselves YAC, the Young Adults Crew.Later that year, the PNC invited Pastor Fred Mangeni as an interim pastor for EM in which he served until February 2009. In early 2009, the PNC restarted its search for a full-time Pastor. In July 2009, we invited Pastor Samuel Son to serve as our full-time pastor. He began his service in September 2009. With strong leadership and a 5 Year Plan for the ministry in place, we are looking forward to being a faithful community that will affect many lives in the Triangle. Our English Ministry is moving forward with "New Life" provided by Jesus Christ, not limited to Korean-Americans, but to anyone who is willing to worship with us, since diversity only strengthens the faith of a Christ driven community.
The deepest transformation happens in an intimate relationship. Spiritual Mentorship is a structure to nurture such one-to-one relationship that can create trust and vulnerability through which we can share our true stories. For it is in sharing our stories we can hear God's stories. 1 year termmeet once a monthcurrently in a beta mentoring programtarget date to open publicly 2011using Anderson & Reese's book Spiritual Mentoring

New Life exists to baptize and make disciples who love God and their neighborGod loved us in Christ and when we commit ourselves to Christ, our old life of sin and guilt dies with Christ, and we live a new life of joy and purpose which is the life of Christ in us.Baptism is where this New Life in Christ is best expressed and embodied. This New Life is best enjoyed in discipleship which is basically the living out of the commitment made in baptism. It is the daily living of dying to old life and living the new life of Christ in us.The mark of a disciple is one who loves God with everything because God is already our everything. The mark of a disciple is one who loves their neighbor knowing that the neighbor is anyone who is in need, and that to love anyone is to love everyone, that to love anyone is to love ChristThe dicsciple is one who seeks to bring people to the place of baptism and thus the beautiful dance-cycle of baptisma and discipleship. Our Worship style is a blend of contemporary (praise band) and traditional (prayer of confession, monthly sacraments)Our worship is contemporary (full praise band) and traditional (prayer of confession, monthly communion). We Worship because if we do not Worship then the rocks and the trees will cry out. We were created to Worship. And in the book of Revelation we see that the consummation of the new creation is also Worship. The beginning and the end of our life is Worship! We Worship because:Worship is the submission of all of our nature to God. It is the quickening of conscience by His holiness, nourishment of mind by His truth, purifying of imagination by His beauty, opening of the heart to His love, and submission of will to His purpose. And all this gathered up in adoration is the greatest of human expressions of which we are capable. -William Temple Archbishop of York Worship is :Worship is the Corporate Human Response to the Awareness of God’s Presence in ChristWorship is focused on God but is for usIn Worship God’s World transforms our WorldWe worship:with all of our heart and soul and strength through praise and music and bodywith all of our mind through the preaching of the Word.with our body through the sacraments.
